Sunset is where well heeled istanbulites have been taking their foreign guests since 1994 to impress them with magnificent sunsets over the Bosphorus, a refined menu with Asian influences and an exclusive club-like atmosphere that gives a sense of community. The restaurant sprawls on a nice terrace inside Ulus Park, where a glass dining hall with panoramic views is encircled by open-air decks populated with tables during the summer. Sunset Grill & Bar has created some iconic flavors that are compiled in a nice cookbook, while the first sushi bar of the city and the beef steaks curated and aged in house are still the main attractions on the menu.
The owner Barış Tansever, a praised member of Chaine des Rotisseurs, has a special interest in arts and design, which is reflected in the overall setting he has created for his restaurant. While the illuminated circular bar is crowned with a giant lighting unit made of cocoons, the garden is decorated with flower-like Maxxi Poppy lamps that Zaha Hadid also used for her MAXXI museum design in Rome.
An amazing fact about Sunset Grill & Bar
The restaurant has made a collaboration with Villeroy & Boch to produce limited-edition plates decorated with “Ribbons” paintings of the world-renowned Turkish contemporary artist Burhan Doğançay. These collection items are still on sale for supporting the artist’s foundation, while an Aubusson carpet knit with a Doğançay pattern still ornaments the walls of the restaurant.

- Please note that the restaurant practises a dress code: casual smart. (no shorts or flip flops)
- Due to a high volume of reservations, their dinner service is split into two seatings. The first seating starts at 17:00 and ends at 21:00. And the second seating takes place between 21:30 and closing time.
